The Association of University EngineersThe Association of University Engineers

How to join

AUE members shall be suitably qualified engineers responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance or design of engineering services in a University (or a Higher Education Funding Council establishment).

How to Become a Member

Institutional Membership of the Association is by way of a small annual subscription (currently £150) which is levied against each member university. To enquire whether your university holds Institutional Membership of the Association, please send an email to info@aue.ac.uk.

We do, however, encourage suitably qualified University Engineers to register for Individual Membership, by filling in the form available below and sending it to the AUE Administrator. There is no extra charge for individual membership. Benefits include access to the Barbour site and voting rights at the AGM.

In exceptional circumstances, individual membership will be considered for people whose universities do not hold Institutional Membership, at the discretion of the Executive on an individual request basis. If you

believe this is the only available option open to you, then you should write to your regional Chairperson.

Membership Benefits

Benefits of being a member include participating in local and/or national events such as training opportunities, idea and knowledge sharing, attending technical seminars, problem solving and broad general networking with similarly employed university colleagues.

Members enjoy a good peer group working relationship with many like-minded colleagues and have the opportunity of attending and supporting regional meetings held at regular intervals throughout the regions. Opportunities for gaining accredited CPD (Continuing Professional Development) are available and the AUE will assist in the organisation of appropriate sector specific training sessions.

You receive an invitation to the annual conference and have the opportunity to put forward your views on the content of the conference. Partner programmes are supported wherever possible.

Shortly after joining, members are granted access to the AUE-NETWORK mailbase, are sent a membership certificate and can apply to have access to the members-only areas of this website.
