Keith Sims - Maintenance Engineer BEng(Hons) BSc(Hons) IEng MIET ACIBSE
Previous AUE chair 2007-2009, Regional AUE chair since 2006.

I’m responsible here at Cardiff for managing the planned and reactive maintenance of the university building services and am the Estates Energy Champion. I am also the Responsible Person in Estates for statutory compliance of the University electrical systems, natural gas systems, control of Legionellosis (L8/HTM04-01) and water hygiene, lifts and lifting equipment and a number of other items. We manage the M&E section of our Direct Labour Organisation and a team controlling the University’s Building energy Management System (BeMS). I’ve been in the industry nearly 35 years now and have been lucky to have experience in project management of new build, working as an M&E consulting engineer, and my trade apprenticeship with the local electricity board (SWaLEC).
