Sally was employed in the Estates Office at the University of Hull for the whole of her working life. Having a Chartered Quantity Surveyor for a husband, she was always interested in the built environment and thoroughly enjoyed playing a part in the development of the campus. She took early retirement at the end of 2005 but swiftly became involved with the AUE as a part-time Administrator, along with former colleage, Bob Mackenzie.
