AUE Annual Conference
The AUE Conference is usually held in September and the nine regions take it in turns to host the event. The Chair of the hosting region works closely with a representative from the host University to administer the Conference. Recently the AUE has also worked with Assured Events to ensure the smooth running of the event, which usually includes a tour of the University or local places of interest, eight technical presentations, an informal dinner and get together on the first evening, a formal dinner on the second evening, and a number of tours and excursions for retired members and their partners. In addiiton, there is time to look round the exhibition stands brought by various companies who offer products or services relevant to Engineers, and have an informal chat with their representatives.
The 2011 AUE Conference was held at The University of Edinburgh on 7, 8 and 9 September 2011.
The 2012 Conference is scheduled to take place at Keele University on 5, 6 and 7 September 2012.
The 2013 Conference will be held at Goldsmiths in London on 4, 5 and 6 September 2103.
The AUE is always looking for volunteer universities to host its conferences. The 2014 conference is due to be held in the North East region and expressions of interest are invited.
If you are interested in hosting a conference, our Conference Guide will provide you with a good overview of what is involved. The Income and Expenditure account from the Royal Holloway conference in 2007 is also a useful indicator of the likely operating costs.
