Chair of South East Region
Conference Host for 2016
After completing a 4 year indentured apprenticeship with Walls Ice Cream I then moved on to maintaining building services in what was the Heathrow Penta hotel at the time the only hotel within Heathrow airport perimeter. My next move was to Harefield Hospital where I remained for 14 years and following further study progressed to senior estates officer responsible for all hard services and grounds in the world famous heart transplant hospital where my role ranged from complaints of dripping taps at 2am to discussions with Sir Magdi Yacoub on where we could locate a pig farm on site. I left Harefield and became site manager at Brunel Universities Runnymede campus in Surrey where I was fortunate to remain for a year before being transferred over to the main Uxbridge campus where I am currently Assistant Director – Maintenance responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, contract management, switchboard services and the systems teams I completed my MSc in building services engineering management via distance learning in 2005. I am currently planning a route to chartered status.
