Chairman's introduction

The North West Region of the AUE is well positioned to assist travel around the region, with city centre Universities in Manchester, Liverpool and Bangor. These include the University of Manchester, Salford and the Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Liverpool and John Moores University, the Science and Technology facility in Daresbury, Warrington, the University of Bangor in North Wales and the region then stretches as far as Queens University in Belfast and the Universities in Ulster and Galway.

We all share the same problems and the AUE is a perfect conduit to stop us all re-inventing the wheel. I would encourage all members to attend the Regional meetings and participate in the sharing of knowledge via the JISMAIL.

I would also request that any technical problems, innovative installations in their areas, or Health and Safety issues which members in the NW Region may have encountered or solved, and which may assist their colleagues in the Region, are shared at the Regional meetings.

I look forward to meeting you at our next Regional meeting (watch out for information via e-mail) and encourage attendance at the meetings which are spread throughout the year and at as many venues as we can reach.
