I started my Career working in the NHS and became a full time self-financing Energy Manager in my mid-twenties.  I joined North Yorkshire County Council as an Energy Manager in 1989 until joining the HE sector in 2001 as an Energy Manager; working at Teesside University, Durham University and before retiring, Sunderland University.

My hobbies include travelling, playing the guitar and enjoying the company of my six grandchildren.
