A comprehensive reimagining of one of LJMU’s most prominent gateway buildings, the transformation of the Henry Cotton Building marks a major milestone in the university’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering an outstanding student experience. This ambitious project will decarbonise and repurpose an existing 1990s building, creating state-of-the-art, flexible facilities for staff, students and visitors alike that reflect the university’s bold vision for the future.

AUDE members will have the opportunity to see the work in progress and to hear from the client and wider project team about:
- the optioneering and decision-making process for this repurposing project
- how the scheme achieves realistic sustainability goals in a refurb
- delivering repurposing works in an occupied building
- our approach to managing risk
- how collaborative engagement with the design team, contractor and supply chain is supporting successful delivery
- how the team has navigated wider stakeholder engagement and delivery of impactful social value
