AUE EXECUTIVE POSITIONS (Voluntary)
These voluntary roles are vital to the smooth running of the Association, not to mention very fulfilling in terms of your career and networking and we are eager to have a full complement of committee members by the Executive Meeting in November.
AUE Representative on UUK ACOP Focus Group
Heather Loosemore needs to hand on the reins to a new recruit within the AUE so if this would be of interest to you, please don’t hesitate to put your hand up!
The role is to be part of the advisory board – historically Heather has had little input, however the ACOP is now undergoing a formal review where the AUE may have more input.
Recently they have gone to a TEAMs meeting format 3 times a year, which is much more palatable – with one meeting a year in Woburn house in London in the summer.
Heather has learnt a lot about UK Universities (not just the ACOP) and the various bodies involved, operating at a level you normally don't get exposed to.
The AUE were invited based on AUDE's recommendation.

AUE Representative on BSI Technical Committee Facilities Management FMW/1
The AUE has had a representative on the BSI Technical Committee for Facilities Management. Our last representatives have sadly left, so the AUE is now looking for volunteers to take up this pivotal role.
Facilities Management FMW/1 has a growing portfolio of standards with most of the recent documents being developed internationally in ISO (International Standards body) and CEN (European Standards body).
Here is a link to the FMW/1 committee page on the BSI website to provide you with an idea of the portfolio and current membership. https://standardsdevelopment.bsigroup.com/committees/50083866#2
Attached is the role description and committee member policy.
In terms of commitment, there are 3.5 day committee meetings per year (hybrid meetings, on-line or in person). The commitment usually takes the form of reviewing/commenting on drafts from time to time and attending the committee meetings. Some members take on extra responsibilities as CEN or ISO Working Group experts and the committee supports them by commenting on drafts at the review stages.
If you would like to nominate yourself as the AUE representative for BSI Facilities Management FMW/1, please send an e-mail to info@aue.ac.uk.
If you would like any further information on any of these roles then I'd be more than happy to have a catch-up and I'm available via jeni.stevenson@uwe.ac.uk. To ensure continuity and succession within the AUE Executive we are hoping to fill these positions as soon as possible and would be grateful if you could send your expressions of interest for the above posts to Sally Wilkin at info@aue.ac.uk
