What is involved?
There is an attached Job Description with the duties detailed. In summary, you will be an officer of the AUE, part of a four-person executive team, a Director registered at Companies House and you will be the main contact for all things related to Finance.
We have an experienced and well qualified accountant running our Finances, and we have an audit company with oversight of the accounts.
The accountant carries out the vast majority of day-to-day duties including the invoicing for university institutional membership and providing monthly account information for the executive team.
The auditor checks the accounts annually and lodges the accounts with Companies House as well as providing regulatory advice.
We have a healthy financial outlook and a strong desire to continue in this manner.
What’s in it for me?
It’s the opportunity to volunteer into a role that may be very different from your day job, the development and broadening of your skill base of the running of the Association and working as part of a compact and highly empowered executive team.
The chance to make a positive difference to a fantastic voluntary organisation that at its core, is trying to improve the engineering profession.
Your management team may perceive you differently for a selfless role that is also developing your skill set beyond engineering.
