
The AUE held its 54th Annual Conference at Leeds University, 9th - 10th September 2026. We are sure all 105 members who attended will agree it was a fantastic event, and equally as successful as the resident heron catching his luxury Koi Carp fish supper!
The AUE held its 54th Annual Conference at Leeds University.
Everyone who attended: members, exhibitors, guests (and the heron) found the event to be an extremely positive experience, valuing the opportunity to network and learn from the range of interesting presentations on offer.
The event included the Annual AGM, where members agreed the following changes to the Elected Executive Officers:
- National Chair: Sam Heppell (takes over from Billy Ferguson)
- Treasurer: Dean Aitken (replaces Paul Richards)
- Wales Chair: Louise Stringfellow
- London & SE Chair: Vittorio Frosini
- East Midlands Chair: Jason Devlin
In addition, David Jack (Edinburgh) and Anuj Maadan (Strathclyde) were announced as Learning and Development leads to progress this important area.
A 2026 Conference Report and further information on the 2027 Annual Conference which will be held at Manchester Metropolitan will be available in due course.
Closing the AGM, Sam Heppell requested a Call to Arms for volunteers for a range of roles. Help with hosting the 2027 Conference, progressing Learning and Development and supporting Regional Chairs through Vice Chair roles. In addition, Billy Ferguson expressed his thanks to Paul Richards for his outstanding contribution to, and support of the AUE, as he stepped down from his Treasurer role.
